Deleted Scenes
Slow Echoes was originally 70,000 words long. In no particular order, here are my favorite scenes that didn't make the final draft.
Scene 1: "Jewel"
Even though Jewel was a cameo character, he was one of my favorites to write, and it probably saddened me the most out of all the edits to cut his only scene.
Scene 2: "Brandie and Cliff"
I had to cut quite a few scenes featuring Selk's friends, Brandie and Lynette, as well. Here is one highlighting Brandie's enthusiastic crush on Cliff, which amuses Selk.
Scene 3: "Selk and Whistler
in the Park"
Another one of my favorites. Selk and Whistler getting to know each other. Apparently, they got to know each other well enough in the scenes that stayed in the final draft!
